A DOT CONNECTOR.
Located right where the city’s social fabric starts to “weave”, in the heart of the lively downtown “commercial triangle”, Blend HOTEL walks the walk with direct access to a perfect blend of old and new Athens. In the middle of everywhere and at the same time nestled away from the touristic path near the iconic 19th century churches of “Chrisospiliotissa” and “Agia Eirini”, Blend HOTEL is the ideal starting point for the guests to enhance their personal story with the city’s authentic treats, exploring the diversity of Athens and truly blending in. Everything is in walking distance reach: from Syntagma square to Monastiraki and Plaka, from the Acropolis and the Parthenon to the most young and edgy areas.
REVIVING THE TIMELESS URBAN ELEGANCE OF THE MID-CENTURY WITH CONTEMPORARY DESIGN ELEMENTS.
Originally constructed in the mid 1800s, the building now becomes a landmark for the city’s comeback. The straightforward exterior architecture is kept intact –a direct link to the iconic Athens modernism of the mid 1800s and mid 1900s– while the interior received a breezy (Stockholm-meets-Soho) update, re-celebrating Athens as a metropolis of style. This link between the past and today is obvious in every aspect of the hotel’s retro-fresh look & feel.
Each one of the 24 rooms and suites is styled with minimalistic, tailor-made contemporary design elements and objects offering an aesthetically pleasing, comfy experience. All rooms overlook the paved streets at the hotel’s front and around the nearby lovely squares while all of the suites offer a unique view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon.
Back in the day, the building (“Megaron Pavlides”) belonged to the Pavlides family, renowned for introducing chocolate to Greece. The building housed their headquarters and pastry shop and it was actually here where the first hot chocolate drink was ever created and served in Greece, in 1852.
